Gamelan – Kempul
The kempul is the highest pitched of the vertically suspended gongs used in Indonesian gamelan. Specialized craftsmen forge and construct the bronze and iron gongs which must be precisely tuned to match other instruments in the gamelan orchestra.
Gamelan – Cengceng
The ceng ceng are pairs of thick brass cymbals used in various form of gamelan ensemble.They can also be attached to a carved animal such as a turtle. Pairs may be made in different sizes and have different pitches.
